Day 11 - Bye Bye Brighton (and UK) and hello Rome!

Before we left Brighton we took another quick stroll around and took some happy snaps. Oh the "sand" looked inviting... Sad to leave the UK but it was time to experience somewhere else.
The Mecure was just perfect for what we needed at the time - great food, friendly staff....and SILENCE.

We made it to Gatwick with the expert help of Ryan's driving (and Nora). Clyde enjoyed having a drive too as we both had a nap in the back!

Gatwick's concourse was pretty cool. One might walk across a covered bridge OVER the taxi way to find one's jet. Good view from up there..
(Don't be alarmed we didn't fly this crowd!!... Just demonstrating the view)

We stepped back a few years...actually light years in technology as we boarded our
BA Boeing 737-400... A quick google suggested this machine was 22 years old. With all of the rubber bands fully wound we departed a little behind schedule for Rome.
Told you it was vintage. Pretty sure Captain Orville and FO Wilbour (Wright) were up the front!

The jet remained intact for the two hours and we were suddenly in Rome...

Time to sign off for this time, finally caught up on the UK antics.  BIG day planned for Rome (actually already done that too.. Just behind in the blogging)... More to come when we have a mo... Next chapter the Rome Tourist 101 - old buildings, fountains, steps and all that :)

Oh before I forget, funny how there are no Pizza Huts or Dominos here... So we settled for Italian for dinner. Lasagne was good, Ryan's fish had only just finished swimming and was staring at him while he enjoyed it....

Ciao!!
