We had decided to posh it up a bit and hire a car to have a look-see of the countryside. We had ordered an Audi A4 but Hertz gave us a Volvo XC60... This SUV aka robo-tank drove itself. Seriously, as long has you were steering it where the sexy GPS (known by us as Nora) told you, then you were fine. Just had to work out what buttons to press, in the right order, speak nicely to Nora (literally)... At times we did ig'Nora, sorry I digress. Then we had to set the right speed, the preferred following distance from the cars in front... And bingo...3 hours later we were on the road. It was decided to take the coast road to Hastings for lunch via Eastbourne.
Hastings was a nice little spot and where we encountered the first rain of the trip. Lucky the automatic headlights and wipers worked all of that out for us too. We are pretty sure there was a baby change table incorporated into the back seat of the car too. Nice way to take our minds off the awful night before.
So Hastings, lovely. Managed a spot of shopping too. The police station seemed a little high tech.
Bloody big birds too...
Time to head back to Brighton...and to check in at the Mecure for some quiet time,
